Veteran Ghanaian actor Jagger Pee, born Abeiku Nyame has spoken about the challenges faced by actors in the Ghana movie industry.

The actor who starred in the famous “I sing of a well” in 2009, said he has regretted being a Ghanaian actor.

If he would be given a chance to decide his career, the famed actor says he would never consider being an actor in Ghana.

Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM, Jagger Pee disclosed that the movie industry in Ghana is not a good paying job.

“If I were to die and reincarnate, I would want to be an actor outside of Ghana rather than in Ghana… The film business is growing everywhere except Ghana. Ghana is a bad country to develop a career in acting. You work for many years with very little remuneration,” he lamented.

He continued, “Even though Ghana’s film business isn’t developing, we’re still slogging through only to pave the way for our successors in the profession to enter and potentially make a difference.”
