Worst programme of 2009 named and shamed

24.01.2010 LISTEN

Michael Jackson: The Live Séance has come top in our poll of 2009's worst programmes.

Ahead of the National TV Awards, we asked users about their least favourite shows of the past year and the Sky1 offering came out on top with a massive 33% of the votes.

Derek Acorah's show made the headlines back in November last year due to its questionable taste - and credibility - as the psychic attempted to chat to pop superstar Michael Jackson from beyond the grave, live on TV.

Al Murray's ITV1 sketch show, which was panned by critics, came second in our poll, while at three it was a tie between Amanda Holden's sitcom Big Top and Five's Live From Studio Five.

If you haven't seen any of the programmes, you really haven't missed much.

Here are the full results:
1 Michael Jackson: The Live Séance (33%)
2 Al Murray's Multiple Personality (16%)
3 Live From Studio Five (11%)
4 Big Top (11%)
5 Horne and Corden (8%)
6 Fearne Meets… (7%)
7 The All Star Impression Show (5%)
8 Heads Or Tails (4%)
9 Totally Saturday (3%)
10 Minder (3%)
