The Archbishop Charles Parmer-Buckle Inaugural Charity Open Golf Championship takes off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, December 23.

Mr George Amoah, Competition Secretary of the Achimota Golf Club, disclosed this in Accra on Wednesday.

He said the competition would serve as a fundraiser for the refurbishment of the Holy Spirit Cathedral and was opened to golfers throughout the country.

He said the competition, organized by the Catholics in Banking, is being sponsored by SPS, a solar manufacturing company, AEG Limited, CAL Bank Limited and The African Regent Hotel.

Mr Amoah said there would be a tee-off practice for beginners after the competition, and that, it would be played in accordance with the rules of the World's Golf Governing body and the local rules of the Club.

He said there would be an auction of Holy Spirit Cathedral Restoration marbles, tiles and stained glasses.

The Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Samini and Black Lace Band are expected to entertain the gathering.

Archbishop Charles Parmer-Buckle, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra would present the awards to the winners.
