Tema, March 7, GNA - The Tema Country Golf Club President's Putter Championship which was postponed last week, now tees off at Tema on Sunday, March 19.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Manager of the Club in a brief with the GNA Sports at Tema on Tuesday, said more than 100 golfers are expected to participate in the competition.
He said the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition is opened to both amateur and professional golfers from the Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs.
Mr Adablanu said the championship is being sponsored by Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Majority Leader of Parliament and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, who is also the President of the Tema Country Golf Club.
This is the second time that Mr Owusu-Adjapong would be sponsoring the competition since he assumed the presidency. Emos Korblah, Victor Brave-Mensah and Anthony Amuzu, all of Tema Golf Club would be battling each other in the Professionals category which has attractive prizes at stake.
The amateur's division will also witness another fierce battle to be fought among crack golfers like Kofi Gyau, Frank Etwi-Barimah and Nana Antwi-Boasiako, all of the Tema Club.
