Accra, Dec. 8, GNA - The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Sports and the National Sports Council (NSC) has sent a congratulatory message to Ike "Bazooka" Quartey, Joshua Clottey and Kofi Jantuah for winning their respective fights last week-end, paving the way for them to take shots at world titles fights next year (2006).

A statement signed by Mr Justus Agbeko, General Secretary of the GBA said the level of brilliance displayed by the three fighters was a delight to watch and goes to buttress the point that with good planning, the boxers are capable of grabbing world titles.

The statement said the victories chalked by the boxers will grant them opportunities to fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) versions of Light/Middleweight and Welterweight titles as promised by the President of the Council, Dr Jose Sulaiman.

The statement said the GBA is in touch with the Dibella Entertainment Incorporated, promoters of the three boxers to ensure that the aspirations of the Ghanaians of winning world titles materialise. The GBA is also planning a hearty reception for the three champion boxers prior to the finals of the Mortein Boxing league on December 26 at the Centre Court of the Frank Ofori Tennis Court at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
