Kwesi Appiah Will Be Shown The Exit If He Fails To Win 2019 AFCON In Egypt - NC Chairman

Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah has confirmed that Kwesi Appiah, who is the head coach of the Black Stars will be shown the exit door if he fails to win AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

The then Kwesi Nyantakyi's administration who reappointed Kwesi Appiah as the head coach of the senior national team tasked the former Al Khartoum manager to annex the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations.

And according to Dr Kofi Amoah, the country has been waiting for the AFCON trophy for a long time and President Akufo Addo has tasked the Black Stars to bring home the trophy.

However, in an interview on Adom TV's 'Fire for Fire', Dr Amoah disclosed that coach Kwesi Appiah's new contract comes with conditions.

"Government has decided to extend the contract of Kwesi Appiah to cover the Africa Cup of Nations," he said.

"Per the contract, if Kwesi Appiah doesn't win the AFCON 2019 he is gone," he added.

Ghana has already qualified to this year's showpiece to be staged in Eygpt.

Ghana will have a tall mountain to climb as the countries has been increased from 16 to 24.

The Black Stars have won Africa's prestigious tournament four times and the last time the country lift the trophy was in Libya 1982.
