UMB Pledges Support For Golf

Chief Executive Officer of UMB Bank John Awuah has pledged his outfit's unflinching support for golf in the country.

The bank partnered premier golf club, Achimota in a recently held Accra Open Golf competition, which he described as a huge success.

Consequently, he has promised to rally support for the sport by way of sponsorship as well as make his staff available to active members.

The UMB boss in a post-event interview said “We are highly impressed with the organization and the level of competition demonstrated on the course. We thought it prudent to partner this great Club as part of activities marking our 45th-anniversary celebration.

“As a bank, we think about the welfare of our numerous customers, so if, you will realize, we started with a health walk aimed at promoting healthy living. As the saying goes that businesses are stuck on the course and signed in offices, we will continue to support golf.”

Winners who distinguished in the well-attended golf fiesta took home various prizes and cash, ¢10,000 for the overall winner.
