The Kenyan delegation that attended the just-ended Africa Amputee Football Meeting in Accra, has paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr Robert Sarfo-Mensah at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The delegation, led by Madam Charity Kamau, was in his office to express appreciation for Ghana’s successful hosting of the special Africa Amputee Football Meeting from December 12-14.

Madam Kamau said, “we are here to thank you and to inform you of a successful meeting in Accra. We have resolved to work hard to make amputee football more formidable on the continent”.

She appealed for support from the government to lift amputee football higher. “We shall be knocking on your door at all times to seek your support for the sport and we hope you would open it for us”.

Mr Sarfo-Mensah was happy the meeting went on well and assured of Ghana’s support for the continental body at all times.

“My doors are already open and we are ready to support the new federation at all times as we have been doing,” he said.

“We have resolved to develop disability sports to a higher pinnacle and one of the steps we are taking is the training of coaches of all the disciplines to impact on the talents of Persons with Disability (PWDs)”, he disclosed.

He thanked the delegation for making it to Ghana and wished them well in all their efforts.

The Secretary-General of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Mr Ignatius Elletey, and another official of the NSA were present.

The delegation later called on the Deputy Director of the NSA, in charge of Sports Development, Mr Saka Quaye, at his office.
