Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has sealed a long-awaited loan move to Greek side Platanias FC, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The 24-year-old sealed the move on Monday and joins from Ukrainian club FC Dnipro as he looks to secure regular club football to aid his bid of playing for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in June.

Inkoom has endured almost two-years of being frozen out from the Dnipro first team over a rift with manager Juande Ramos.

The news comes as a big relief to the player and several Ghanaian football fans who have been desperate to see the 2009 U20 World Cup winner back in regular first team action for his club.

The former FC Basel man shared his profound delight at his move which will hopefully boost his chances of making coach Akwasi Appiah's squad for the World Cup.

“I am so happy and relieved,” the 24-year-old told  Goal  after sealing the move.

“It's a dream come through. I am ready to give off my best to prepare me for the months ahead.”

Inkoom  who spent the second half of last season at French club Bastia however insists making the World Cup squad for Ghana is not his immediate focus.

“Let me focus on club duties first and after we can talk about the World Cup.

“I am most grateful to God for this opportunity. I am going to make good use of it,” he added.

Inkoom  joins Platanias who are currently 14th in the Greek top flight – four points adrift the drop zone.
