The Sportswriters Association of Ghana (SWAG) has sent a message of condolence to former World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Champion, Ike Quartey on the death of his wife, Barbara Quartey.
In a statement signed by the acting General Secretary of SWAG, Mr. William Ezah, the Association said “In these moments of sorrow, we wish to share in your grief.
“It is our hope that the good Lord would strengthen and give you and your family the peace of mind to overcome these trying times,” the statement added.
Ike Quartey was SWAG Sportsman of the Year on two occasions, 1996 and 1997
