GFA Must Declare Aduana Stars Champions If GPL Season Can’t Be Continued - Yahaya Mohammed
Veteran striker, Yahaya Mohammed has indicated that Aduana Stars must be declared champions of the Ghana Premier League in case the Ghana Football Association (GFA) decides that the season cannot be continued.
The 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season has been on suspension since March as one of the measures by the government to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
According to Yahaya Mohammed, the Ghana FA should do all it can to ensure the football season continues amidst the current Covid-19 situation.
Meanwhile, he insists that if that option is not feasible, then the country’s football governing body should declare Aduana Stars as the winners of the season.
“I would suggest that the GFA takes the decision to continue the league. However, if the GFA decides to cancel the league, the trophy must be given to Aduana Stars since we are on top of the league log”, the striker told Accra-based Angel FM on Monday night.
Yahaya Mohammed believes this will be the best option to solve the question of which club represents Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.
