The National Democratic Congress has lost its credibility and appears members have also lost the same looking at how inconsistent and insincere officers of the party have demonstrated so far. Even on the face of glaring defeat in the 2016 general election, they lied that, they were in a comfortable lead cruising to victory. At the end of the day, the declaration of results by the EC exposed them one big time.

They lied in government and got rejected by the good people of Ghana. Some of us thought that two years in opposition, would have reformed them but it looks as if, they are doing more in opposition. The inconsistent posture of the NDC nowadays stinks more than a *"complex foot rot" disease.*

The aftermath of the AWW by-election and the NDC's hypocritic stance particularly on what characterized the entire process leaves much more to be desired. In one breath, the parliamentary candidate who stood on the tickets of the NDC during the by-election was traumatised and couldn't come out to exercise his franchise because of the seeming chaos that was transferred to his house.

Samuel Ofoso Ampofo, chairman of the National Democratic Congress who I am told is an elder in his church on the day of an election held a press conference and made the assertion that NDC's parliamentary candidate was traumatised because security operatives entered his premises and subjected people to torture.

Even before the man appeared before the commission to give his side of the story, NDC through their general secretary had issued a notice to the public with directives that, NDC as a party won't allow any of their members to appear before the commission. According to the party, the commission created pursuant to article 278 of the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana is only a smokescreen just to shield the perpetrators of the said dastardly act and for that, the party won't be part of any exercise of same.

The party general secretary took such a decision in a haste without any consultation and failed to appreciate the fact that, article 278 commission isn't an ordinary commission but rather, a commission fortified with same powers of a high court[ see article 279(1) of the constitution of the Republic of Ghana]. Again, if he had consulted NDC lawyers, he would have known that, pursuant to article article 279(1)(a)(b) and (c), no Ghanaian can refuse the invitation of such a commission and so by logic and constitutional law, the party's directives was otiose, null and void with no operative effect.

I wasnt surprised when Delali Brempong defied such an unconstitutional and contemptuous directive and made an appearance before the commission to give his testimony. When was he asked his whereabouts when the incident which according to his chairman got him traumatised occurred, he said he wasn't around.

His answer badly exposed Samuel Ofoso Ampofo to public mockery and ridicule for want of a better word. We are looking up to Sam George who is set to make an appearance on Monday to tell the commission the said person who was killed in his own house during the by-election.

NDC is a disaster and the earlier we couch a nice name for the NDC as "National Disaster Congress the better"
