Nominees for this years Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA’s) artiste of the decade includes Shatta Wale, Efya, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Joe Mettle, R2Bees, Becca, and Nacee and The Tribe.
The category, according to the organizers Charterhouse, is to honor an individual artiste who have been able to stand the test of time for the past 10 years in the music industry with a greater level of influence.
However, reggae dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has pulled himself out of the race.
In an interview with George Quaye on Joy FM on Saturday, monitored by ModernGhana, he disclosed that Samini deserves the artiste of the decade.
He made this shocking statement when he was asked by the host who he thinks will win in that category.
“Forget about me and give the award to Samini... He won the MOBO when most of us didn’t know about it, and also he is the first artiste to get a telecommunication ambassadorial deal,” he explained.
He believes the CEO of High Grade Family set the pace for him and other colleague artiste and deserves to win in that category.
The 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) will come off on May 18, 2019.
Tickets are already selling at Nallem Stores and all malls in the country.
