Health Coalition of Unemployed Nurses To Embark On Demonstration on September 5th

The Coalition of unemployed Nurses are set to embark on a nationwide strike early next month to protest Government’s failure to give them jobs, General Secretary of the group, Emmanuel Nannor has confirmed.

The Coalition says they will embark on the nationwide demonstration on September 5th through to September 7th in a move to protest against Government’s failure to recruit them into the health sector. The coalition set for the demonstration is made up of the 2016 batch of trainees.

They say they have been at home without jobs for almost two years after completing school and their mandatory national service. That is why it has become necessary for them to embark on the nationwide demonstration to get Government’s attention on the issue after dialogue with help ministry could not yield any result.

General Secretary Emmanuel Nannor however in an interview with Modernghana.com says they are hoping Government will come to their aid in order to avoid the impending demonstration. He also pronounced that they are embarking on the demonstration in every region across the country.

“So we are saying that we are going to organize a demonstration in every region. So it means that people in the Upper West Region will have to go to the regional capital”, he said.

He further disclosed that they are almost through with the necessary arrangements and the nationwide demonstration will come off from the 5th to the 7th of September if nothing changes.

Emmanuel Nannor nonetheless says they are hoping that Government and the Ministry of health will address their concerns for them to call of the demonstration.
