GOAL SETTING! GOAL SETTING! GOAL SETTING! THE major factor that contributes to the success or failure of an individual, institution or organization. If you want to see how successful a man is going to be, look at how they set their goals. The way you set your goals determines how you achieve them. The successful make it a point to set their goals right way so that they are geared to achieve them.

The Harvard Graduating Class Story
A few years back survey was done at a graduating class of students at Harvard University and it was realized only 3% out of 100% of the students had specific written down goals and these individuals when reached about 10 years after graduating were performing better than their colleagues and had achieved most of their goals. Of the remaining 90% there was 10% group which was a group of educated and focused individuals who would not write down their goals but kept their goals in mind. After 10 years their lives were reviewed and it was realized yes they had achieved some goals but most had forgot their goals. Then there is a group of students that were past of the 60%. These would set goals but never writes them. These students usually had set short term goals. They set their goals in relations to their next promotion at work, next raise etc. The remaining 27% of people never bother to set goals.

These findings proved one thing the 3% who had written goals would out performed the rest of the individuals. The 10% who had goals in mind would achieve them but will not out perform the 3% with written goals because there would constantly review their goals and not forget their goals. The 60% who set short term goals would achieve them but not to the level of the 10% or 3%. The remaining nearly about 27% l think we all know what happened to these ones, nothing much is achieved.

These findings were realized that these actually apply to people in life in general and goal setting is a skill that is lacking in most individuals. People are not achieving to the extent they should because of goal setting, businesses are not reaching their desired goals because of lack of proper goal setting, churches are not reaching to level they should because there is no proper goal setting. If you want success goal setting has to be your favorite exercise.

When writing be specific. GOAL SETTING IS ALL ABOUT SETTING OUT PLANS TO ACHIEVE WHAT YOU WANT. If you want to be financialy free have a specified number is 100 000, $1million $10billion. If its a car know the model you want Lambogini, BMW, Escalade, Jaguar be specific. Being rich isnt enough ,,,, the question is how rich do you want to be?

2. Have a deadline for each and every goal.
Goals without a deadline are line an individual chasing the wind you will never catch it.

The wind keeps moving and so is time moving. A goal that would have taken you a year to complete is taking you 15 years to achieve because you have no deadlines. You are just moving but not making process.

Have deadline for each and every one of your goals, set targets. An example might be Buy my Red VW (Volkswagen) GOLF GTI 6 by 31 June 2019. That's a specific goal with a deadline. Each day when you open your goal setting journal you will always make plans to achieve it.

3. Develop a plan to Achieve your goals.
Failing to plan, is planning to fail. Set out daily, weekly, months, yearly steps to achieve your goals. Allocate daily tasks you will do to achieve your goals working with the target in mind. Set out action steps. Questions such as who will l call TODAY? What do l need to this week? What can l do this month that will be bring me closer to achieving my goal?

4. Be goal directed
Individuals who are goal directed never fall because of temporary setbacks.

Obstacles along your journey are there to make you stronger, better and competent than who you were yesterday. Learn from them

GREAT TIP: If you do not write your goals down you achieve hazy results. The oxford dictionary defines hazy as something not clear or someone who is uncertain or confused. Not writing down your goals yields confusion in your life because you will easily lose focus and get carried away.
