Be Willing To Let Go

If you want to fly high in the sky, you need to leave the earth. If you want to move forward, you need to let go the past that drags you down. – Amit Ray

You cannot step into your future if you keep holding on to the past. The only thing stopping you from become the person you desire to be tomorrow is the person you were yesterday. If you desire to move forward you might have to let go of the baggage of the past. The more you keep holding to the things of the past the more they take control over your life. For you to move forward you need to face forward. No one ever moved forward by looking and stepping backward.

Take sometime to reflect and introspect. Look within. Look at your life today, look at the things you have been holding on to. Make an evaluation. The things you are holding on to might be the things that are blocking your moving forward. It might be habits; it might be certain toxic people and toxic relationships and maybe old way of doing things or your past. For you to move forward you have to let those things go. Maybe the only thing holding you back might be the thing you keep holding on to.

For You to Get to Higher Level You Need to Leave Something Lesser

A wise man once said, “Once the mind is exposed to greater ideas and dimensions it will drop something lesser behind.”

You will never go higher by holding on to something lesser. The only way you will go higher is if you drop the lesser things behind. Letting go or holding are both decisions and the quality of your life is directly related to the quality of the decisions you would have made. Herre are some questions to ask yourself about letting go and decisions;

  1. In the different areas of my life what have l been holding on to that is not taking me forward?
  2. How is what am holding on to affecting me and other areas of my life?
  3. Is my life at the point l want it to be?
  4. What do I need to let go of in order to go to the next level?
  5. What do l need change?
  6. What actions do l need to take in order to change my life?

Be Intentional About Letting Go and Changing Your Life

The future you desire to create requires you to let go of some of the decisions and choices you might have made in the past. For you to go higher level there are some things you need to change. Your life never changes unless you decide to change. Change only comes when you change and to change you need to be willing to let go of the following:

  1. Let go of Old Ways of Thinking

A problem will never be solved at the same level of thinking it was created at. – Unknown

It is your ways of thinking that go you to were you are today. The first way to change your life if by changing the way you think about yourself. Success cannot be achieved with a failure mindset. You cannot win with a losing mindset. You cannot achieve success in any area of your life if all you are seeing in your mind is failure.

In the book The Secret Author Rhonda talks about, The Law of Attraction. Which states, that whatever it is that has happened and is happening in our lives we have attracted in our lives through three things, our thoughts, emotions/feelings and our actions. It states, your thoughts are the foundational point, they fuel your beliefs, which fuel your emotions and emotions then fuel your actions.

So, for you to let go of the old ways of thinking you have to be willing to do feed you mind with new thoughts, new ways of doing things. Old ideas need to replace with new ideas, your old self-image need to be replaced by a new positive one. Old ways of seeing yourself as a failure or victim need to be replaced by the can do it mindset and the victor mindset.

  • Let go of Bad habits and old ways of Doing Things.
  • Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. – Unknown

    You can’t keep doing the same wrong thing over and over again and expect a right thing to happen. Your life is shaped and created by the habits and things we do repeatedly. As the Philosopher Aristotle puts it across, “We are what we repeatedly do, so excellence is not an act but it’s a habit.” You cannot expect excellence in your life if you are not doing anything that yields excellence in your life. To change your life, change your habits and let go of the old bad ones.

  • Value less associations and toxic people and friendships.
  • You are a product of the people you constantly associate yourself with.

    Your associations determine the person you become. If you desire successful hang around successful people, if you desire winning hang around winners. You cannot expect to win when everyone around you is talking defeat. If you want to move to the next level, it’s time to let go of the people that are not adding value in your life. By letting go of some people you create room for more people of value to come into your life.

  • Let go of the past
  • You cannot step into the future if you keep staring into the past.

    The past is never an easy thing to let go of, it’s one of the hardest things. But as hard as it might seem. You cannot focus on the road if your eyes are focused on the rear-view mirror(past). The only way to focus on the (future) road is to look at the windscreen right in front of you. There are so many things that might have happened in our past that might be so hard to let go of, but these things if you do not let go of them and make peace with them, they will stop from moving forward. It’s time you go through the healing process and let go of it.

    You might not be responsible for the things that happened in your past. But you are 100% responsible for the things that happen in your future. You have a choice. You can either use your past as a stumbling block that stops you from achieving the success you are destined to achieve in the future. Or you can use your past stepping stone to move forward and achieve the success you are destined to achieve. The decision is entirely up to you
