
The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of three people for causing disruptions during the voter registration exercise at the Tepa Electoral Commission office in the Ashanti Region.
This follows an incident orchestrated by the three suspects that resulted in chaos at the registration centre.
After the arrest of the three, the police have worked to restore calm for the continuation of the registration.
“The Police have arrested three persons for engaging in a fight and causing a temporary disruption of the ongoing limited voter registration exercise at the Tepa Electoral Commission office in the Ashanti Region.
“The three suspects, Abass Abukari, George Vinor, and Abdul Karim, are currently in Police custody assisting the investigation.
“Calm has since been restored as the registration exercise continues,” parts of a press release from the Police said on Wednesday.
The Limited Voter Registration exercise started on Tuesday, May 7.
The exercise is expected to last for 21 days and will end on May 28.
