Health KUMACA Receives Support From Unilever

Unilever Ghana has donated one hundred (100) cartons of Lifebuoy Soap to students and teachers of the Kumasi Academy in the Ashanti Region.

The gesture, according to the company, is to help improve sanitary conditions among students in the school.

This comes after four students died in the school this month with others admitted to hospital.

Health officials later revealed that some samples tested from the school had shown the presence of H1N1 infection in the school.

The students were also taken through proper hand washing tips and how to ensure personal hygiene.

The Customer Service Director of Unilever Ghana, Gladys Amoah, who represented the Managing Director of Unilever, Ziobeieton Yeo, said her outfit is committed to supporting the awareness campaign in the fight against the infection.

Mrs. Amoah indicated that, an electronic poster sponsored and commissioned by Unilever is already in circulation under the campaign #HelpStopSwineFlu to educate the public on a possible outbreak.

She entreated persons who received the message to share with their friends and contacts as a support for the campaign.

She indicated that the Lifebuoy product is formulated as an antibacterial soap that fights against infections causing germs at all times on application, and will come in handy in the fight against the disease.

The Unilever officials also advised students to take personal hygiene and health seriously.
