Corrupt Betty Mould Iddrisu Should Shut UP!

Feature Article Betty Mould Iddrisu

Betty Mould Iddrisu

You would think that having run and/or supervised the epic scamming of the Ghanaian taxpayer in the Woyome Mega-Heist, the former Atta-Mills’ Attorney-General and Minister of Justice would go quickly and quietly into the proverbial sunset and bow her oversized knucklehead in shame in perpetuity. But, of course, this would not be Betty Mould, the mediocre former Attorney-General and bumbling short-lived Education Minister who once threatened to sue yours truly and several of his Kyebi relatives, because we had dared to promptly and aptly call her professional integrity and competence into question. Indeed, it is absolutely pedestrian to point out the obvious: which is that Betty Mould Iddrisu would surely go down the annals of the country’s legal history as the worst and the most incompetent personality – man or woman – to have ever held the post of Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

Nobody should be surprised if it turns out somewhere along the line that her gold-gilt sheepskin and other resplendent credentials and all, that Betty Mould Iddrisu literally slept her way up the post of Attorney-General. There is a common Akan maxim which says that “If Ms./Mr. Naked promises you a bolt of cloth, you just listen to her/his name.” The fact of the matter is that Betty Mould Iddrisu has absolutely no respectable and credible traction in Ghanaian legal circles to cavalierly presume to impugn either the professional integrity or judgment of Mr. Godfried Yeboah-Dame (See “Dame’s Comments About Tsatsu Amateurish – Betty Mould” MyNewsGh.com / Ghanaweb.com 5/6/17).

Well, I am no legal light or maven, but I am older than the former Woyome Legal Body Guard to have witnessed far more with deeper insight and understanding of the Tsatsu Tsikata of the late 1970s up to the mid-1980s that Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu scandalously claims Mr. Yeboah-Dame was either not born or too young to have witnessed, first-hand, or adequately appreciated. The fact of the matter is that Mr. Yeboah-Dame missed absolutely nothing of substance or worth a farthing. Indeed, as a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata was an ordinary lecturer who is not known to have distinguished himself in the way that the present Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, and the late Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills, and before them, Prof. S.K.B. Asante distinguished themselves as creative and astute thinkers. Tsatsu Tsikata, like Dr. Yao Obed Asamoah, was a frustrated terminal “Senior Lecturer” who saw vintage opportunity in the Rawlings putsch of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) and later, the Rawlings gravy-train of the so-called Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) to escape his miserable also-run or pedestrian existence.

It also amounts to staking an outrageously outsized claim for Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu to assert that the overwhelming majority of the present membership of the Ghana Supreme Court underwent the tutelage of the patently jaded faux-socialist and bloody “revolutionary” Mr. Tsikata’s. And, by the way, Tsatsu only began to be seen and heard when he viciously and callously collaborated with his even more infamous cousin, Capt. Kojo Tsikata, and Chairman Jerry John Rawlings, to establish those kangaroo judicial death squads called the People’s Courts in the late 1970s and throughout much of the 1980s.

Indeed, one does not need either a First-Class Law Degree from the University of Ghana or an LL.M. from Oxford or Cambridge to facilitate the establishment of the judicial equivalent of a lipstick-coated pig. All one needed by way of credentials or professional qualifications were Trokosi Envy and the practical and clinical wickedness of the mind. And these latter credentials, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata proved to have possessed in overabundance. We also need to promptly highlight the fact that as a member of the University of Ghana’s Faculty of Law, Mr. Tsikata was only one of a couple of dozen, or more, lecturers and professors; he never distinguished himself to become the veritable human institution that the likes of Justice Akua Kuenyehia; Prof. Gyandoh; Prof. S.K.B. Asante; and Prof. Atta-Mills, among a quite remarkable number of others, became.

So what is all this poppycock that Betty Mould-Iddrisu is talking about? Or did she also sleep with Tsatsu Tsikata for good grades? I mean, my idea of political and professional success is not being named as one of the legion Vice-Chairpersons of the Rawlings-minted thoroughgoing corrupt political juggernaut called the National Democratic Congress. As Deputy Attorney-General for only these three or four months, and before that as then-Candidate Akufo-Addo’s attorney in the Afoko shenanigans in the lead-up to the 2016 general election, Mr. Yeboah-Dame, with the astute and inimitable tutelage of Prof. Mike Oquaye, exhibited more professional savviness than Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu would be able to do in three lifetimes!

And, by the way, stop your blasphemous silliness, for you can’t even compare Tsikata’s performance before the law courts with that of the now-President Akufo-Add, so give us a break, Betty “Mold!”
