Odebrecht Marks Prostate Cancer Awareness Month With Education And Screening For Its Male Staff

Accra. 4^th December, 2016 – Odebrecht Ghana, a leading construction and engineering company has organized Prostate Cancer screening and education programme for its male staff members to mark the Prostate Cancer Awareness month.

Odebrecht Ghana is relentless in its commitment to the health, safety and well-being of its staff. Last month, the company marked the Breast Cancer Awareness month by organizing an awareness programme for both male and female employees in the Accra office and the Eastern Corridor Road Project, in Yendi campsite.

According to Danilo Trinchão responsible for People and Finance at Odebrecht Ghana: “The health of our employees is paramount and central to our existence as a business. In view of this corporate philosophy, Odebrecht Ghana, invests well in helping their staffs prevent chronic diseases or detects them early enough so they can seek medical treatment.”

Mr. Trinchao reiterated that adequate awareness and education on prostate cancer, is one potent way the disease could be prevented. “This realization is responsible for our decision as an organization to combine education and screening every year for our employees,” he disclosed.

Dr. Joseph Awuku-Asabre. a Urologist said prostate is the most common male cancer affecting one in 7,000 men in Ghana and that men who are 40 years and above are susceptive to prostate cancer and as such must screen yearly to ensure early detection of any anomaly.
