Free SHS Education In Ghana-The Incredible Pros, The Evitable Cons.

The 2nd Press Release from Centre for Free Education on 3rd Nov; 2012.-PARIS, FRANCE.

Center for Free Education (C.F.E.) is a non - governmental Diaspora organisation. The objectives of the organisation is established on the fact that, education is an innate right and that for an individual to tap into that innate right and utilise it to the fullest, all hindrances such as socio-economic and political challenges must not deny a person of this legitimate right.

Free Senior High School, (SHS) has become the topic for our politicians, individuals and some NGOs for some time now. It is in respective to the few goals outlined above, the centre decided to take the initiative to support Ghana education service and Ghanaians to ensure that every child shall have access to free and quality education to the second cycle institution in any community or village they find themselves.

Indeed, the debates as to the feasibility and the non-feasibility of this free educational programme, Imani Ghana and K.B. Asante have contributed to the ongoing discussion. In fact we have carefully monitored the flow of ongoing discussion and one thing that strengthens us most as a centre is the fact that, not any of these NGO's or parties or individuals made any comment to suggest that free education is not good but the whole attempt is limited to its feasibility.

The centre agrees that education is an innate right and as every child must not be denied of. The Centre for Free Education (C.F.E.) has come as a scheme to help arrest the bottom line of the debaters so that we can achieve these free education policy for all Ghanaians. The time has come to also make contributions to education and take the Ghanaian child out of the street, child's slavery and to be enrolled into a formal education.

The times have changed and we have learned a lot about the dangers of not building the good foundation for our country to take off properly in its quest for socio-economic, political and moral development. There is more to life than money in our pockets. The culture of provision of free and quality education is a must have. It must be accepted and practised. If we share what we have with others as Diasporas, yes, we can. We know what we are saying. Adding a little to what our oil, gold, cocoa, timber etc can do, will be enormous to make people feel happier.

C.F.E. will support any government in power. We shall help in building schools, paying teachers well, clothing and feeding pupils among others. We are going to mobilise funds, motivate and encourage our members to give more in order to make it a reality. We shall care for what will make free SHS possible and successful in any political regime in Ghana.

A successful SHS in Ghana will bring about equality as the state resources will be used for all kids, increase enrollments and literacy rate and happiness. The tenets of well-beings; social relationship, religion, employment, leisure, money for projects, eating, sleeping manners etc. will be improved in the most efficient manner.

We are duty bound to invest in education to enable children in Ghana have access to free and quality education. If I say invest, I mean you and me and all Ghanaians especially, those of us in Diaspora. Together we stand to build our nation from afar.

If we fail, we shall be responsible some of the armed robbery cases and some if not all the delinquencies you can think of in Ghana. God forbid.

Thank you.
God bless us and Ghana.
