The flag-bearer of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Mr Ansah Antwi, has chosen a woman, Ms Patience Amesimeku, as Running Mate for December 7 Presidential Election, reliable sources said on Friday.
The DFP becomes the second party after People's National Convention (PNC) to name a woman as a running mate.
Ms Amesimeku is the former District Chief Executive for Keta under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Mr Antwi would introduce her to the party's supporters at their headquarters at the weekend, the source said.
The Party would also outdoor its manifesto at the function.
Meanwhile, Mr Antwi has been asked to rectify some problems on his nomination forms when presented to the Electoral Commission on Thursday.
According to the Commission, his statutory declaration form had neither been endorsed by a commissioner of oath nor a magistrate. There were also gaps in the forms they filled.
Mr Antwi and his running mate are expected to return to the Commission before 1600 hours, the deadline for the filing of their nomination papers.
Three aspirants – Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (NPP), Professor John Evans Atta-Mills (NDC) and Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom (CPP) completed the process on Thursday and were declared by the EC as Presidential Candidates for their respective parties for the December 7 polls.
Mr Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah, an independent presidential aspirant, who submitted his papers on Thursday, was asked to produce his tax clearance certificate to complete his filing.
