The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor, has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, questioning their competence to roll out a 24-hour economy.

During a ceremony in Damongo where he was acclaimed as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo Constituency, Jinapor labeled the NDC's promise of a 24-hour economy as nothing more than a slogan.

Jinapor pointed to the NDC's track record during their four years in office, accusing the oposition party of failing to provide even a 12-hour economy when the country plunged into total darkness popularly called 'dumsor'.

He asserted that this history demonstrated the NDC's inability to be trusted with their proclaimed 24-hour economy initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Jinapor slammed NDC's lack of clarity in explaining the concept of a 24-hour economy to the ordinary Ghanaian.

The ceremony, which took place on Saturday, 17th February 2024, saw Jinapor acclaimed as the NPP's Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo Constituency, with no other contender in the party primaries.

This marked the second consecutive time that he went unopposed in the Damongo Constituency.

Jinapor called on Ghanaians to throw their support behind the NPP presidential candidate, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing the Vice President's swift policy implementations in his first two months after being elected.
