The rampaging students of Bawku Technical School in Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region have apologised for their actions on campus.

They have also pleaded with education authorities to allow them back to the school to complete their exams.

According to some students, they come from different regions and going back won't be possible.

Saeed Abdul-Jafar, a student said some of them had to seek refuge in some uncompleted buildings to pass the night after the school was closed down.

He said they have admitted their wrongdoing and have apologised to the school authorities for their actions.

Another student, Nsoh Isaac Akembona, also said, they could not close their eyes that night when they were chased out of campus.

According to him, he and his friend had to pass the night in someone's kiosk but could not sleep due to the volatile nature of the Bawku town.

The students made the call on day two of their exams, Wednesday August 3.

Calm has been restored to the school and students were on campus to write their exams.

They were thoroughly searched before entry into the exam hall. A team of police personnel was stationed at vantage points on campus.
