Citi FM raid: DSP Azugu should bow his head in shame for ordering the arrest – Adam Bonah

Headlines Citi FM raid: DSP Azugu should bow his head in shame for ordering the arrest – Adam Bonah
MAY 13, 2021 LISTEN

Security Analyst Adam Bonah says the National Security official who ordered the Rambo-style arrest of Citi FM/TV's Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 should be ashamed of himself for such a directive.

According to him, the arrest of the broadcast journalists over purported filming at the premises of the National Security Secretariat respectively is wholly uncalled for. He believes the journalists pose no threats to warrant such treatment.

Speaking on TV3's 'Mid-day Live' news program on Wednesday, May 12 which was monitored by this portal, the Security Analyst said; "the arrest is very very uncalled for. Too much show of force on two young journalists. Whoever deployed the supposedly people calling themselves national security officers should bow his or her head in shame."

Mr. Bonah added that many of the national security operatives are not intelligent enough to be deployed to execute certain operations.

According to him, the national security secretariat is the foremost intelligence organization in Ghana and therefore, operatives working there must be intelligent.

"...this is the foremost intelligence organization we have in the country. But unfortunately, some of them are too unintelligent to be deployed to perform such operations," he stated.

Meanwhile the Commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), DSP Samuel Kojo Azugu has been confirmed as the senior police officer who sent the heavily armed national security operatives to the premises of Citi FM/TV to effect the arrest.
