NPP Concern Youth Groups up in arms against Northern Regional Secretary

The Concern Youth Groups (CYG), a pro-NPP group in the Northern Region are up in arms against the Regional Secretary of the party after he refused to retract and apologize over an alleged “unguided” comment against the group.

Alhaji Sibdow Alhassan Yakubu infuriated the Group after he stated they are not recognized members of the NPP in a live interview on Radio Tamale in February 2021.

The CYG also took a swipe at the regional executive committee for failing to compel Alhaji Sibdow to retract and apologize before their one-week ultimatum elapsed.

According to the Group in a statement signed by its Secretary, Napadow Clifford Atchulo, said Alhaji Sibidow would have done himself a lot of good if he had set aside a his arrogance, ego and pomposity and render the apology.

“Having such a character as regional executive is inimical to the success of our great party in the region. We therefore declare a political war against him and his caliber of people in the executive committee. From now onwards the regional secretary, Alhaji Sibdow will be on our radar,” the statement said.

It added “We want to assure all stakeholders of our great party in the region especially the youth who have been on the receiving end of the misbehaviors, mistreatment and manhandling by some of our regional executives that we are not out to distract rather we want to put the executives on the right foot for the good of our great party in the region. We therefore pray with each and every member of our party to bear with us.”

REGRETTABLY THE REFUSAL OF NORTHERN REGIONAL SECRETARY OF NPP TO APOLOGIZE TO CONCERN YOUTH GROUPS OF NPP (CYG-NPP).

We released an open letter on the 23th Feb 2021 demanding an unqualified apology from the northern regional secretary of NPP Alhaji Sibdow for comments he made on live radio that seeks to portray us as not being members of NPP. We gave him one week ultimatum to apologize, but for all intents and purposes the regional secretary and the entire executive committee once again show case their real selves not just to us but to the entire party stakeholders by the refusal of the regional secretary to apologize. Once again they exhibited their disrespectful behaviors, arrogance and pomposity for which they are known for.

Alhaji Sibdow would have done himself and the executive committee good if hehad apologized but his uncontrolled ego could not allow him to and the amazing part of it all is that the other executives did not also see the need to compel him to apologize. As the saying goes “Birds of a feather flock together”.

As we stated in our previous release, we want to make it clear that we are not doing the bidding of any person or group of persons neither are we trying to discredit any executive or the entire executive committee. Our sole interest is to fight for the well-being of all youth groups and the entire grassroots supporters of our great party. We will continue pushing until we achieve same.
