Franklin Cudjoe Is a Hypocrite Sans Dignity

This farcical scenario is strikingly akin to the old saying that it is tantamount to double punishment to beat a child and instruct the same child not to squeal or cry. It is rather comical for so-called Civil Society Organizational Leaders like Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, of the IMANI-Africa Junk-Tank to virulently accuse Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of lacking transparency, and then when the IEC Chairperson and her staff of Deputy Commissioners and Directors publish the full details of the identities and other vital statistics of registered voters for ready access by potential litigants and inveterate critics of the IEC, then peevishly resort to the withering impugnation of the credibility and administrative competence of unarguably the most transparent and administratively competent franchise-related institutional establishment of Ghana’s postcolonial history (See “ ‘I Thought I Had Seen the Worst of Irresponsible Incompetence’ – Franklin Cudjoe Jabs EC” Ghanaweb.com 11/23/20).

This is a clear case of “If you do, you are damned, and if you don’t, you are equally damned.” It is a no-win situation and a stance taken by pathological cynics like the IMANI-Africa President, whose acute desperation to have Candidate John “Dumsor” Dramani Mahama revisit his grossly incompetent and insufferably benighted Stone-Age Culture on Ghanaian citizens, once again, appears to know no ends or limits. Mr. Cudjoe and his reactionary staff of Mahama shills had better rest assured that the revolutionary and progressive path studiously embarked upon by President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to take Ghana up the ladder of an upper-middle-class income level or status cannot be reversed anytime soon. Actually, never, if these sociopolitical parasites really want to know.

Thirty-odd years of faux-socialist experimentation with the lives and the destinies of the bona fide Ghanaian people must be definitively put to eternal sleep with the recently deceased Founding-Father of the institutional wrecking-ball that is the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This is not the time for political toddlers and kindergartners to plead for another chance to be returned to Jubilee House or the Presidency, so that they can play peekaboo or trial-and-error games with the lives of real humans with flesh and blood and not make-believe humans or toys. You see, the governance of a major country with a globally established reputation and recognized image and stature like Ghana requires the caliber of adult and visionary statesmen like Messrs. Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia, and not intellectual and professional paperweights like Mr. John Dramani Mahama and wicked, insensitive and vacuous feminist facades like Candidate Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

For those of our readers who may have so soon forgotten who she really is, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is the hawkish academic tyrant and politician who summarily abrogated the age-old Teacher-Trainee Allowances, while she flew her own children on generously endowed scholarship awards to the United States for advanced degrees and graduate studies, even as hundreds of thousands of equally able-bodied and brilliant college and university students were forced to drop out and join the queue of the perennially unemployed and underemployed. Naana Opoku-Agyemang does not believe in social intervention programs like the Akufo-Addo-implemented Fee-Free Senior High School System, unless the prime beneficiaries are her own children, grandchildren and relatives and those of her close associates and cronies.

At any rate, taking down the publication of the full details and the vital statistics of all registered voters from the Google Drive Website was the right thing to do by the Independent Electoral Commission. But it was equally right for the Chief Returning Officer and her staff to have published the full details and vital statistics of registered voters in the first place, if also because in publishing these details and vital statistics of all registered voters, the Commissioner Mensa-headed Independent Electoral Commission had definitively demonstrated that, indeed, it had absolutely nothing to hide from critics and admirers alike, contrary to what the pathologically incurable cynical likes of IMANI-Africa’s Mr. Cudjoe would have the global Ghanaian community believe.

Now, every excuse that the opposition-sponsored mercenary leaders of the so-called Civil Society Organizations have been waiting to strategically and mischievously deploy in a calculated bid to sabotaging the integrity of the 2020 General Election has been thoroughly and effectively quashed by the inimitably competent and forward-looking key operatives of the Independent Electoral Commission. And on the latter count, all arguments and debates must rest.
