The only independent presidential candidate in this year's general elections has advised Ghanaians to stop expecting better living conditions or development from the two major political parties, National Domocratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker, if the two bigger parties had anything better to offer Ghanaians, they would have done that within the forty years they both ruled the country.

In an exclusive interview with this reporter, Mr Walker said, "Ghanaians deserve better than the deceit and mismanagement of the NDC and NPP".

He observed that all that the two parties had done best was to implement populist policies only aimed at winning them elections but not ones that would really transform the economy and improve the living conditions of the masses.

"When they're in power, they waste the whole time doing nothing then when it's three or two months to elections, you see them running all around cutting sods and pretending to be fixing roads that could have been fixed long before if really they had the good of the people at heart. They go about sharing monies and gifts and promising free policies just to buy votes", he lamented.

Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker said, it is time for Ghanaians to try something different; a time to give power to an independent candidate. He explained that "to see a real fight against corruption and a deliberate effort to develop the country, Ghanaians must give power to an independent candidate who would not have to consider party affiliation or party loyalty before making appointments or taking decisions".

He said, if Ghanaians would continue to think that a vote for an independent candidate is a waste because the NPP and NDC have huge following already, then the two parties would continue to take them for granted. He urged Ghanaians to vote massively for him in the December 7 elections to give him power to turn the fortunes of the country around.
