Western Togoland Secessionists Are Fighting a Lost Cause

Western Togoland Secessionists Are Fighting a Lost Cause
15.10.2020 LISTEN

Dr. Theo Acheampong, who is described by the media as “a political risk analyst” provides absolutely no clues about the aspirations, motives and objectives of the Western Togoland Secessionists that most reasonably well-educated Ghanaian citizens, including operatives of our national security and intelligence agencies, did not already know. Which is the criminally inexcusable asinine myth that, somehow, the present-day Volta Region was always a culturally cohesive, organic and integral part of the present-day Republic of Togo prior to the German colonial conquest and annexation of the same (See “The Secessionists Are Sponsored in Lome, Accra and Diaspora – Dr. Theo Acheampong Alleges” Ghanaweb.com 10/4/20).

What needs to be clarified for these rag-tag bands of thugs and nation-wreckers, is the fact that there is absolutely no territorial enclave or geographical terrain of Ghana or anywhere in postcolonial Africa, for that matter, that is wholly or entirely ethnoculturally homogeneous. In effect, any quixotic attempt by any grossly misguided band of ethnic chauvinists and/or supremacists to geopolitically experiment with ethnic nationalism or ethno-fascist nationalism at the expense of the integrity of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana will not only be fiercely resisted, it will be thoroughly eradicated, even if it means hunting down the members of the military wing of the so-called Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) and their equally reprobate sponsors and sympathizers for total destruction, wherever these cowardly and loosely organized band of nation-wrecking barbarians and savages may be.

The smug and complacent Togolese wing of the Western Togoland Terrorist Organization must count themselves fortunate that the Akan-speaking people of Ghana and La Côte d’Ivoire have not already started crossing into Eastern Togoland or present-day Republic of Togo to fight for the organic unification with our long-resident relatives behind Mount Afajato. You see, the fluidity of ethnicity and culture is what makes the predatory demands of the Western Togoland Secessionists seem to be inexcusably and criminally absurd. I mean, how do these Kudzordzi Gangsters suppose that they could literally expropriate and cannibalize the resources of the Akan-majority nation of Ghana for some 20-odd years and then simply walk away with their humongous loot, scot free, because, somehow, they resent the evenhanded movement of the revolutionary wheel of fortune which has determined, presently, that democratic power be condignly reposed, once again, in the hands of the most fair-minded and politically inclusive of the Ghanaian citizenry?

But even more significant to note is the fact that there can absolutely be no gainsaying the fact that no forensically sustainable evidence exists pointing to the fact of the present-day Volta Region, including the Pre-Oti Volta Region, once a German colonial possession, being violently forced into any geopolitical union or unification with the erstwhile Gold Coast Colony and the rest of present-day Ghana. If, indeed, as the likes of Dr. Acheampong insist, we are obligated to open up a dialogue with these so-called Western Togolese or Togolanders and their supporters and sympathizers, wherever they may be, well, I am afraid, Dear Reader, but the only legitimate dialogue that the rest of us bona fide Ghanaians citizens are apt to afford these terrorists has to be the Dialogue of Military Might. You see, just as the German colonialists used their military might, rather than “dialogue” to conquer and annex the present-day Kangaroo Dynastic Republic of Togo and present-day Volta Region, as well, the Government of Ghana has absolutely no other constructive alternative but a bounden obligation to give these nation-wrecking barbarians and savages a vintage taste of our military might, and the language which they have proven themselves to understand best.

I mean, if these miscreants were really interested in dialogue, to begin with, why did they not first call for one, instead of dangerously and violently resorting to the force of arms, mayhem and carnage? How do we, as a law-abiding nation, dialogue with people whose prime language and expressive medium of choice is military insurrection, kidnapping and plain murder? Or do these Western Togolanders suppose that Ghanaians are some lily-livered cowards who would give up our human rights, territorial integrity and dignity at the pop of stolen nerf-guns? If the so-called Homeland Study Group Foundation think-tankers, otherwise known as IMANI-Trokosi Policy Scatterbrains, really knew about the blistering and apocalyptic exploits of the Akwamu, Asante and the Akyem kingdom, nations and empires, among a host of others, in the West-African Subregion, particularly the Akwamu, between the 1400s and 1700s, they would not be so lightly and innocently playing with fire. The real gunfire will hit the proverbial fan soon, trust me.
