Back in the day dating was very much a face to face encounter; the art of conversation tested the water of where things were going. Meeting that special someone in person wasn’t enough, the whole experience and environment could make or break a second date. The build-up of tension, the weeks or months of planning, the choosing of clothes, the first piece of eye contact is what we lived for. Now, believe it or not your finger does all the talking, a quick swipe left or right and immediately someone knows you are interested.

Dating sites across the internet have consumed the internet and exploded in reputation for singles, and not so singles throughout every part of life. The online dating scene is not just for “youngsters” either, there has been a growing trend of 50 to 60 year olds finding success on dating sites whatever partner or companionship they have been looking for. With this in mind it’s safe to say that the perception of online dating has changed completely, and this drastic use of technology has become quite simply part of people’s daily lives. The stigma surrounding online has causally disappeared into the horizon and its now the norm to turn to online dating if you’re looking to meet new people and partners. This may well sound like a sorry state of affairs but it can’t be ignored that the majority of people turn to online dating and very much enjoy what it has to offer.

Meeting someone you’ve already met
We are now in the age of ‘meeting’ people online, even using the statement “it’s nice to meet with you” across this world of instant messaging and virtual communication. You are meeting with people online before you meet with them! This time saving device completely cuts out the time and vested interest in trying to search and meet the perfect partner. People now have the ability to "meet" someone before ever actually meeting them, which basically guarantees that at your up most convenience you can pick and choose to speak or ‘meet’ someone you fancy, quite literally.

Escapism
Is that all online dating is, ‘meeting’ with people and then putting all your efforts in to actually meeting them, offline? Interestingly online dating doesn’t stop there; it has transformed the landscape of relationships in its entirety as ‘meeting’ people online is not all these sites are used for. Escapism and the ability to create an entire virtual world for oneself is one of the most attractive qualities for many. As technology is replacing ‘real’ interaction, the choice is still yours to arrange and meet up in person. However, social scape for many is the attraction and leaving the online dating firmly online is enough for a lot of people accessing these sites. You can create and join online communities across a whole range of interests, there is literally something for everyone and every preference, and this provides the perfect platform for endless escapism and indulging in virtual fantasies.

Love or Not
Online dating sites is now a huge world for every user to be the buyer or the seller, and it is this aspect that is in the intriguing part of this underworld that tempts so many. Be who you want to be and find who you want to find, clearly state your needs and boundaries and let this highly efficient, time preserving world do the rest. Whether you’re looking for love or not, the online dating scene satisfies most needs, in the most resourceful way possible. All that’s required now in this day and age is to sign up, pay a small fee, if any, and start ‘meeting’ millions of virtual people at your fingertips, nothing could be simpler!
