Popular Ghanaian gospel singer, Osei Kwarteng, widely known as OK, has opened up about his past life as a thief.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based TV XYZ, the gospel crooner recalled how bad association led him to become a thief.

According to OK, he became addicted to stealing to the point where he was not paying for food that he used to buy.

He said he was staying with his grandmother at the time and was influenced by the friends he met.

"I knew God had called me, but I was diverted because of friends and how the family was," OK said, adding, "The kind of friends I met at the time led me to steal. Those times when people park their cars, then we go and steal from it. They had a certain name for me for doing that job."

OK went on to reveal that he became very skilled at stealing, to the extent that he could steal money from inside parked cars, mostly from under the carpet of the driver's seat.

The singer's revelation has been met with surprise and shock from fans, who had no idea about his past life as a thief.

However, OK hopes that his story will serve as a caution to young people who may be tempted to do same.

"I want young people to know that bad association can lead them to do things they never thought they would do," he said. "But the good thing is that there is always a way out. I found my way out through faith in God, and I want others to know that they can do the same."

The gospel singer's story is a reminder that everyone is capable of making mistakes and that it is never too late to turn one's life around.

Through his music and his words, OK is inspiring others to seek a better path and to have faith in themselves and in God.
