MAY 23, 2018 LISTEN

On the heels of hosting the 2017 Africa Centre Summer FESTIVAL in London, the Colourful Breakfast Show host has been given the chance to host this year's Pop-Africa at the Spitalfields Entertainment Square in London, on Monday 28th of May 2018.

Clarke is not a new entrant to these sorts of events, so he is arguably the right presenter to host it since he co-hosted it last year as well.

So patrons are to expect nothing but the best from the award-winning Master of Ceremonies, presenter,DJ and Journalist who ply his trade with Colourful Radio-UK.

Pop Up Africa returns to Spitalfields E1 on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May 2018 to host the much-loved Africa at Spitalfields event, as featured on BBC Africa. Africa at Spitalfields offers city dwellers the chance to experience (and purchase a bit of) Africa without leaving the capital.

This event which has quickly become a May bank holiday favourite sees Pop Up Africa take over East London’s iconic Spitalfields E1 Market.

The one-day market takeover will include produce and cuisine from all corners of the continent. Stallholders will be selling everything from art, literature, clothing, hand crafted dolls, instruments and interior décor, all adding to the vibrancy of this unique market.

Shopping is not just about the products, it’s about the experience and Pop Up Africa have set out to provide just that.

The ‘Africa at Spitalfields’ programme includes live entertainment such as different genres of African dance, live music, poetry, storytelling and much more, bringing together people from all walks of the community.

Pop Up Africa have partnered with Colourful Radio who will be hosting the entertainment square, their radio DJs will be playing popular tunes throughout the day and will be broadcasting live from the event.

No celebration of Africa and its various cultures is complete without delicious African food! We are on the brink of an African food revolution in London with lots of African food traders coming up the ranks and starting to establish themselves.

At Africa at Spitalfields visitors can sample some of the best that the African food scene in London has to offer from Ghanaian Street food by chef and writer Zoe Adjonyoh of Zoe's Ghana Kitchen, vegetarian vegan Ethiopian food by Ethiopiques, Malagasy food by Lemur House, Nigerian Tapas by Chuku's and Kenyan-Indian fusion food by The Kenyan Indians to name a few.

Through the limited selection of hot food stalls, visitors will enjoy and have the chance to sample the different flavours and tastes of food from across Africa.

All are welcome to this free event taking place on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May 2018.
