Kumasi, Jan 11, GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs. Mary Nsenkyire, has ordered that three men accused of robbery should be kept in prison custody.

Gadafi Abubakar, Razak Abdallah and Ibrahim Gabril, reportedly attacked and robbed their victim of his cash and valuables, costing about GHȼ1,150.00.

They pleaded not guilty to the offence and would make their next appearance on Tuesday, January 24.

One other person said to be their accomplice, whose name was given as Ismailia Mohammed is however, on the run and he is being hunted by the police.

Police Chief Inspector Rejoice Sumatu told the court that the incident happened on October 15, 2015 at Nima Frafra Zongo, in Kumasi.

The accused, armed locally-made pistol and a knife, struck at about 0200 hours, forced their way into the room of the victim, Salim Mohammed, seized his laptop computer, Samsung Galaxy X5 cell phone, and cash of GHȼ300.00.

Salim, who took good look at his attackers raised the alarm, when he met them a day after the robbery attack and with the help of some neighbours managed to arrest the three and handed them over to the police.

The prosecution said the stolen laptop computer was later retrieved from them.
