The National Health Insurance Authority has spent more than 250 million Ghana cedis on drugs distributed to Pharmacies, and other health care providers registered of under the Authority this year.
This has been attributed to non-compliance with the drug lists approved by the Authority, irriational prescription, under dispensing, spurious claims and double billing.
An official of the Authority, Dr. Lydia Selby, disclosed this at the Maiden National Forum for Medicine Transparency Alliance, META, in Accra.
