When one compares the state of Ghana today to that of John Mahama's era, following Akufo Addo's boastful promises to the people of Ghana to make the country the second Dubai and create enough jobs that foreigners would swarm Ghana in search of work, one can easily admit that the country has been ruled by dishonest, deceitful, and corrupt crooks parading themselves as politicians. The result has been the collapse of Ghana's economy, businesses, and investments, coupled with a high unemployment rate.

Under Akufo Addo's administration, Ghanaian journalists faced difficult challenges because many could not write about the immoralities, such as the pervasive corruption that has devastated the nation's infrastructure. Many people who work in government agencies, the media, or are appointed by the government are afraid of being arrested or losing their jobs if they speak out against the despot hiding behind a facade of democracy. That is the fundamental source of the country's damaging causes.

If you support the NPP government, you will soon gain their admiration in a country where corruption, greed, and tribalism are prized more highly than development. However, if you are not willing to work with this regime that has ruined everything in the country, then woe betides you. Supreme Court judges, police officers, civil servants, and other officials appointed by Akufo Addo, either work for the president or the NPP party, therefore, nothing is progressing in the nation.

The NPP government wants people to applaud them even though the court system has become corrupt and organizations like COCOBOD have collapsed. With individuals such as, the heads of churches, pastors, writers, and journalists, including Paul Adom-Otchere, promoting and supporting Akufo Addo's immoralities, the NPP government feels great, but individuals who are not interested in being a part of this empire of deceitful politicians, instantly become a threat to the government.

It’s more than just being stupid, for writers to focus on John Mahama, the opposition, while ignoring the issues and devastation that Akufo Addo, Mahamudu Bawumia, and Ken Ofori-Atta have brought to the country. The NPP government and its politicians are best at fabricating stories about Mahama and leveling unfounded accusations against him, but Ghanaians are too smart to fall for their trickery at this point. Currently, some NPP supporters are pleading with Mahama for forgiveness on social media.

Bawumia and Akufo Addo employed a variety of strategies to acquire power, including the erratic power known as "Dumsor" and the cedi-to-dollar exchange rate against John Mahama. All have returned to haunt them today, with much more dire repercussions. Akufo Addo's inability to address corruption as he had pledged has increased corruption to the point that an NPP politician can hoard a million dollars in her home with impunity. The same applies to illicit mining, which has destroyed the country's major rivers.

However, some deranged people want thoughtful writers like me to applaud this foolish and ineffective government. If you don't, you'll be labeled as an NDC supporter. Meanwhile, other writers who contribute unimportant pieces endorsing the failed NPP's false agenda are never referred to as anti-NDC. Many people like reading my articles for many reasons, for example, I stated that Akufo Addo will fail and that Ghanaians will suffer. That is exactly what the people are going through right now.

I posted "Akufo Addo Had Thought Being President In Ghana Is Very Easy" in October 2019. I added that the president had previously thought that all it takes for one to be president was to recite the alphabet: A, B, C, and D. Akufo Addo confirmed his failure when he declared that Bawumia would take over the affairs of the state. The failed vice president, who is now running for president, is accusing Akufo Addo of being the driving force behind Ghana's devastation because he was only the driver's mate.

Tribal bigots and careless NPP politicians want Ghanaians like me to back a government that has spent 58 million dollars on a deep hole meant to be used for a cathedral. They want us to applaud a finance minister who made it simple for Akufo Addo to steal government funds, while simultaneously endorsing a government embroiled in multiple financial scandals, including the “Agyapa deal” and Aljazeera's exposé of the illicit gold trade, or “Gold Mafia,” involving the president.

A responsible government would first notify the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, doctors, that their bungalows would be sold after finding them alternate housing, but Akufo Addo's government failed to do that. This government has committed more financial embezzlement than any other in Ghanaian history, leaving it heavily indebted and with no one knowing where the money has disappeared. More crucially, they continue to rename and sell institutions that they did not create.

I refuse to support a government that has let down Ghanaians, including those in the Ashanti Region, the party’s stronghold. I have not been hired by any Ghanaian media outlet, received any bribe from the president, or offered a position by Akufo Add, to put pressure on me to produce quality articles about the government when the country is in disarray. I am Joel Savage, and no one can change my identity or style of writing. “I write what I like," a tribute to Steve Biko.
