Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has shared his encounter with a Hollywood producer who allegedly made advances towards him, promising to advance his acting career in exchange for sexual favors.

David Osei recounted the incident during an interview on Accra FM, shedding light on the challenges faced by actors in the industry.

As per the filmmaker's account, the event happened in a social gathering in Los Angeles, where he was approached by a Mexican Latino who initially praised his physical appearance.

However, as the crowd grew, David Osei felt someone touch his bottom inappropriately.

In response, the actor said he turned around and punched him to stop.

To his surprise, David Osei said the people present at the gathering who saw his reaction to the advances laughed, which made him more upset.

However, the individual who had touched him took him aside, telling him that he could only excel in Hollywood if he agreed to their advances.

In his words, he narrated: “At a point, he [the Mexican Latino] put his hand on my shoulder, but I didn’t read much into it. But later, when the place got crowded, I felt someone press my bottom. Reflexively, I turned around and punched him. When that happened, they all asked, ‘What’s going on? And I said, ‘He just touched my bum’. They started laughing, which made me upset.

“I told them, No, you don’t touch me inappropriately.

“After a while, the guy who touched me pulled aside and told me, ‘Well, if you really want to excel here, you need people like me. You need people like us. We run the show here.”

The revelation comes after Ghana’s Parliament passed the anti-LGBTQ bill which is awaiting assent from the President.
