He only proposed years ago — Diamond Appiah denies dating McBrown's husband

Ghanaian actress and socialite Diamond Appiah has denied reports that she once dated actress Nana Ama McBrown's husband Maxwell Mensah.

She says Mr. Mensah only proposed to her years ago but it never materialized.

In a viral video, Diamond sought to set the record straight after a former friend known only as Naana Brown made allegations that she snatched Maxwell from musician Mzbel and dated him before he married McBrown.

"I am not part of the women Maxwell has dated in the industry before marrying McBrown," Diamond said in the video.

She said she met Maxwell only once through highlife musician Kofi Nti who introduced them.

"Maxwell proposed to me alright. He did so through Kofi Nti the musician. He told Kofi Nti that he likes me so he should come introduce me to him and we met only once," she stated.

Diamond said after that first meeting at a Chinese restaurant, she realized Maxwell was Mzbel's ex-boyfriend so she confronted Kofi Nti about the introduction, stressing, "It ended there.”

The actress denied Naana Brown's claims, saying: "Naana who can you mention as your witness? Even Mzbel is aware that I never dated Maxwell."

Diamond Appiah's denial comes amidst a public fallout with her former friend Naana Brown who has been making several allegations about the actress on social media in recent times, including her alleged fake friendship with actress and producer, Tracey Boakye.
