Award-winning Ghanaian music producer Possigee has revealed that some veteran and current music producers in the country have tried severally to sabotage his upcoming musical project the ‘Possigee Mix Masterclass’.

According to him, information reaching his camp indicates that these producers have one way or the other given wrong orientations of the project to budding music producers who have intentions of enrolling.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Modern Ghana, the multiple hit songs mastermind stated that he is surprised at the unfortunate developments.

“I set up this virtual mixing and mastering class to help equip Ghanaian producers, both mainstream and upcoming, in and outside the country so they can come up with quality productions in terms of music,

"I have the industry at heart and all I want and wish is that we come up with good songs rich in production but I was very surprised when I realized that some industry players are just refusing to side with me,” he stated.

He expressed that the negative reception handed him comes as a surprise because according to him he is the first-ever producer to organize music mixing and mastering masterclass in the country and deserves all the needed support.

“In the outside world, you can mention several music producers who have successfully organized masterclasses like I am about to do and they received massive support from their people and an example is Timbaland.”

He revealed that despite the current sabotage there are a few producers from within and outside Accra who have expressed interest in the upcoming project some of whom have come to him already to be impacted.

The multiple hit songs mastermind went on to entreat all interested producers to endeavor to be a part of the class as he believes it was going to help enhance their already acquired skills.

The class which is scheduled to take off in a few days will be held virtually due to the outlined Covid 19 protocols at a fee of 500 Ghana cedis.

So far, some music industry greats have endorsed the project and notable amongst them are Panji Anoff of Pidgen Music and BET Award-winning rapper Sarkodie.

Adding his voice to the ongoing debate as to whether hiplife still exists, possigee stated, "Yes it exists because looking at the definition of hiplife and what the senior artists did years ago then you will realize that hiplife is when the artist sings the local dialect on any foreign style instrumental."
