JUN 7, 2018 LISTEN

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has called for support ahead Ghana's international friendly match against Iceland today despite Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé.

The four-time African champions will take on the World Cup-bound Iceland today as coach Kwesi Appiah's charges step up their preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match will serve as the final warm-up game for Iceland ahead of the World Cup finals.

But ahead of the clash, Anas has exposed the rot in Ghana football on Wednesday.

In the documentary, which GFA has reacted to , top officials were caught taking money to influence player selection in the national teams.

But Gyan, who is not part of the team in Laugardalsvollur, wants Ghanaians to support the team in spite of the ''difficult times'' football is facing in the country.

''In spite of the difficult times, my plea is, as we leave the matters to the appropriate authorities, the National Team is out there in a friendly today and still deserves some support cos it's Ghana,'' Gyan posted on Twitter.

In spite of the difficult times, my plea is, as we leave the matters to the appropriate authorities, the National Team is out there in a friendly today and still deserves some support cos it's Ghana... #IstandwithmyCountry

The match will start at exactly 8 pm.
