Sunyani Tennis Club Set To Triumph Over Four Garrison Tennis Club

The Sunyani Tennis Club (STC) would on Saturday, March 10, engage, Four Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club from Kumasi in a special Independence Tennis competition, at the tennis court of the Sun City Tennis Club, Sunyani.

The tournament, which forms part of activities marking the 61st Independence Anniversary celebrations would see top players of both sides competing for the bragging rights.

According to the organizers, STC would parade a team led by Captain Dan Agyepong with a crack team of seasoned players including the club president Mr Ben Fankah, Vice President Bennet Ntiamoah, Paa Kwesi - Organising Secretary.

Other members of the STC team would be, Obeng Manu, Peter Alibah, Dasebere Dr. Nana Ofori (Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area), Daniel Agyekumhene, Nana Damoah, Nana Kropa (Benkumhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area), Alexis Abbey, Edem Yao, Opoku Kufuor and Eric Asare.

Others include Mr Yaw Boateng - Regional Sports Director, Osei Kufuor, Ernest Bempon, Dan Lardi, Hebert Abaka, with the ladies team comprising Adelaide Kufuor, Afua Kyei Ohemeng, Salamatu Alhassan and Irene Ocran.

The once formidable Four Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club would also rely on Brig. Gen. Alhassan, Mr. S.S. Abebe, Mr. Tony Wularu, Mr. Robert Tetteh, Mr. Isaac Owusu, Mr. Samuel Taylor, Nii Kwei Kussachin, Mr. Ampadu Kyei, Mr. Ben Edusei, Miss Brenda Sutinga, Miss Lawrencia Sarhene, Mrs. Paulina Asemiten, Mr. Maxwell Owusu and captain Jonathan Quartey, Mr. Maxwell Owusu, for the much awaited battle.
