Torgah and Francisca win Tema Captain’s Prize Open

Francis Torgah and Francisca Vandyck became the proud winners of this year's Tema Country Golf Club Captain's Prize Open Championship played at Tema on Saturday.

Torgah returned a net score of 60 to emerge champion of the Men's Division while Francisca returned a net score of 66 to win the Ladies encounter for the first time.

John Otoo came second with 64 net followed by Ernest Opoku at third place with 66 net, beating Matthias Dorfe on count-back while Dennis Boateng placed fifth with 67 net.

Florence Etwi-Barimah came second in the Ladies segment with 69 net with Clara Price placing third with 71 net.

Vincent Torgah won the Professionals category with 67 gross, Victor Brave-Mensah came second with 69 gross while Baba Akologo took the third position with 72 gross.

The one-day18-Hole Medal Play event was sponsored by Mr William

Asiedu Yeboah, the out-going Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr Yeboah praised the members of the Club for support him through his tenure as the captain and urged them to accord the incoming captain the same support.

Mr Kweku Okyere, the incoming captain, thanked the members of the Club for the confidence reposed in him and asked for their co-operation to enable him discharge his duties efficiently.
