New entrants, Tema Youth were forced to settle for a 1-1 drawn game with visiting Real Tamale United (RTU) in their One Touch Premier League match played at the Tema Sports Stadium on Thursday.

The match, which started on a fast note, saw Tema Youth making series of incursions into the vital area of RTU but their attackers failed to glitter as they squandered some obvious scoring chances.

Ekow Benson nearly put Tema Youth ahead in the 28th minute but the striker found his shot tipped by RTU's goalkeeper Najawu Issah to corner with the resultant kick wasted.

Both teams put up extra efforts to snatching the leader but none of could find the net till the end of the first half.

Tema Youth however atoned for their misses and went ahead to score the opener in the 50th minute through Abeiku Gaisie's low grounder that beat keeper Issah.

The Tema lads probed for more goals but failed to increase the tally as the defenders of RTU stood tall to thwart all their efforts at finding the net.

Just as the game was coasting to a home win for Tema Youth, RTU raised the tempo of their game attacking from all angles.

The Tamale-based club's last minute efforts paid off when they scored the equalizer in the 89th minute through Peter Yakubu to give RTU a respite on their away record.
