MMT to liase with Urban Roads for bus stops

Ho, Feb 24, GNA - Management of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) in Ho is to liase with the Engineering Department of the Urban Roads to designate bus stops for its shuttle services in the municipality. This would reduce the turn around time of the buses that commenced operations in the municipality and its environs on Wednesday. Mr Rexford Addo, Dispatching Officer, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Ho on Wednesday.

He said there would be variations in routes being run by the buses to include busy areas such as hospitals and the polytechnic, which were left out in the initial scheduling.

During a ride round town on the buses, the GNA observed that turn around time was long while people flagged down the buses anywhere for lack of designated stops.

Passenger flow was very thin in the morning but increased considerably by noon from the residential areas to market area. The GNA noticed some resentment about the operation of the buses by taxi drivers who yelled when they saw the buses clean passengers ahead of them.
