Special Prosecutor, Mr Martin Amidu Needs Not Resign
19.12.2018 LISTEN

It's precisely a year ago since Martin was appointed as Ghana's Special Prosecutor.

Martin's office has been dormant for an entire 365 days, as this Akufo-Addo administration has determined not to resource the SP's office.

As we write now, the SP's office has neither Regional nor District ancillary offices.

Even the SP's office couldn't be resourced until a formal threat to resign was made. It is after his threat to resign from being Special Prosecutor to shame Akufo-Addo that a legislative instrument that will be applied to operate his outfit has been proposed by President Akufo-Addo.

May we ask President Akufo-Addo what he was doing for the past one year since he appointed 'Citizen Vigilante' Martin Amidu as Ghana's Special Prosecutor to launch an onslaught on corrupt officials of all government institutions, and even all those private businesses who dupe the government with ballooned costs of contracts, and all other malfeasance.

If Akufo-Addo is serious about fighting corruption, and if he claims not to be corrupt, and that he does not condone and connive with corruption and corrupt officials, we are pointing it out to him that former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, who has been currently elevated to be the substantive Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Kwaku Asoma Kyeremeh must be the first to face Martin Amidu, if the President believes in the adage that "Charity Begins At Home"

Corrupt people in government, and all those who intend to be corrupt in public offices, though they haven't yet been in public office quickly charged Martin to resign with immediate effect.

We of the 1956 United Party Tradition Committee wish Martin Amidu well and all the best, and never to resign, because deceptive Akufo-Addo will soon be voted out as NPP leader and Presidential candidate for the 2020 elections.

When he has been ousted from NPP leadership, and our next leader becomes President of Ghana, Akufo-Addo's Akyem and Kyebi mafia will surely face Martin Amidu.

Our policy is that "Charity Begins At Home"
