Interplast Ghana Limited has been adjudged the Best Performer in Mine Supplies and Services as well as the Best Performer in Local Manufacturing at the just ended 4th Ghana Mining Industry Awards (GMIA 2018).

As the major manufacturer and supplier of uPVC pipes, the company was recognized for their contribution in the supply of quality products and services in the mining industry in Ghana.

Receiving the award, the Chief Operating Officer of Interplast Ghana Limited, Sivnesh Kumar RE said the company invests considerably to offer up-to-date solutions, new products and processes through its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

He noted that the company maintains high standards of quality and is committed to providing customers with consistent and highly professional products and services.

According to him, Interplast has received numerous awards at National and International platforms in recognition of the quality of the products and services it offer to customers.

He intimated that the company will continue to provide the best quality of products to the market with satisfactory services hinged on professionalism, precision and timeliness.

Other awardees include Mining Company of the Year, Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd; Mining Personality of the Year, Mr. Alwyn Pretorius – Newmont Africa; Lifetime Achievement Award, Noble Peter Sampson; Female Miner of the Year, Mrs. Joanna Osei Tutu Boakye (winner) and Gifty Aframa Gandhi (Runner-Up); Best Performer in Innovation, Asanko Gold Ghana Limited (winner) and Abosso Goldfields Ltd (Runner-Up).

The Best Performer in Corporate Social Investment, Golden Star Bogoso Prestea Limited (winner) and AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine (runner-up); Best Performer in Occupational Health and Safety, Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Tarkwa Mine (Winner) and Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd, Ahafo Mine (Runner-up); Best Performer in Environmental Management, Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Tarkwa Mine (Winner) and Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd, Ahafo Mine (Runner-Up); Best Performer in Local Content, Ghana Manganese Company (Winner) and Golden Star Bogoso Prestea Ltd (Runner-up) and many more.

The GMIA 2018 was organized by the Ghana Chamber of Mines and Lindiwe Corporate Service under the theme, “A Responsible and Sustainable Mining Industry: a Partner for National Development.”

The event was attended by the Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison and reps from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, the Minerals Commission as well as past and current Presidents of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
