Red Cross helps to curb blindness in Brong Ahafo
Nkoranza, Sept 26, GNA - Brong-Ahafo Regional Chapter of the Ghana Red Cross Society has organised a four-day training workshop for 50 community leaders and volunteers on how to detect eye problems, especially cataract.
Mr Solomon Gayori Gbolo, Regional Secretary of the Society, told About 600 volunteers from 12 districts in the region have been trained to acquire knowledge and skills that would enable them to identify eye problems.

"The society has also trained nurses to man the eye clinics and have been provided with motor bikes to enable them to travel to far-to-reach communities to attend to the people.'' Mr James Effah Korsah, Nkoranza District Coordinator of the Society, expressed gratitude to the volunteers for offering themselves to serve their communities.
