Students' Bar Association Of UEW-K Holds A Successful Handover, Prez Lists Achievements

The leadership of the Students' Bar Association of the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi for the 2017/18 academic year have had a successful handover ceremony where new leadership of student activists were ushered in.

The association with strong student activists' handover ceremony took place on Sunday, May 20 at the Opoku Ware II Hall JCR.

On his part, the 2017/18 academic year's President of the association, Mr Sulemana Yusif enumerated some successes chalked under his leadership which he aligned to the active involvement of members of the association and further encouraged them to remain firm and strong in student activism.

Among the listed achievements include, the introduction of SBA forms for members, lobbying for members to be Chief Justices And Counsel Attorneys for the SRC and the various halls and department of the university, printing of banner for the association, registering the association on campus, a mega sitting with Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, printing of about 100 constitutions for members, just to mention a few.

Mr Sulemana took time off his speech to celebrate the members of the association for their strong activism in the university which continues to shape the activities of the SRC and other key sectors of the university.

Some outstanding student activists who are members of the association including Denis Andaban, Adingo A. David, Eric Dumenu, Larbi Ofori Junior among others admonished members and new leadership to be serious activists in order to protect the laws of the university and the SRC as a whole thereby strengthening the grounds of the association .

Leadership mantle for the 2018/19 academic year was handed over to Mr Desmond Oppong as the President who upon taking the mantle affirmed his leadership's commitment to serving the association diligently so as to have their names written in the good books of the association.
