A Blasphemous Nation, Disgraceful Opposition, And Growing Xenophobia—Part I

Feature Article A Blasphemous Nation, Disgraceful Opposition, And Growing Xenophobia—Part I
JAN 29, 2018 LISTEN

The laugh is in the preposterous self-aggrandising revelations by unrepentant pastors, conceited so-called “men of GOD”, and an over-bloated ego of people in religious leadership. For the life of me, I cannot fathom the disgrace that this nation is being led to. It is one thing to be religious, and another one to be a religious idiot. How can human beings fall for the inanity of pronouncements that serve to make recalcitrant zombies out of religious idiots?

It is mortifying to note that in recent times, the foolishness of pastors and other religious leaders has taken blasphemy to yet another embarrassing level. In Ghana, many a pastor makes daily revelations of conversations they had with GOD that the herds feel the urge to follow rather blindly to their doom. And to say that women are often the ones to follow such people blindly to their detriment speaks a lot about the society that we live in. Of course they lead their men to eat the apple too. In other places, revelations have rather erotic and deadly sides to them. One pastor lined up naked women along a beach and kissed their fine behinds to make them fertile.

He claimed that GOD revealed that to him. Recently, one clown told his flock that believers in his church won’t die at all so they should test their belief by drinking rat poison. So they did! And they all died! But people yet continue to believe in the Utopia of unfounded revelations that continue to be the source of their own misery. Please google for more info.

Then we have less than half of the Ghanaian population under the umbrella of the NDC. They have some of the most absurd form of thinking on the planet. In fact, their dirge had long been written in the annals of the irredeemable for they know not their purpose in life and lackthe usefulness to our progress. They are shameful haters who wish for their brothers and sisters calamity, pain, and a heinous end to life, which they themselves do not know what it is all about. The recent invocations against the hardworking vice president, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia, wereinconsumablygross. This, unfortunately,is the reality, which the Ghanaian society has become. It cannot be said that “it is just politics”! No, I refuse that vehemently! It is not politics, but a nurtured way of life that has intertwined finely with politics on which the survival of this nation pivots.

Then there is the religious bigotry of paid propagandists, which seems to be fueled by a larger power of an international world order looking for dominance over people. The ultimate aim is to promulgate Zionism. These people carry the messages of charismatic churches that are funded by the neo-Christians of America who believe that the coming of Jesus Christ can be quickened only by the entrenchment of Zionism and the confirmation of the Zionist terrorist State. In the dogma that they preach, there is a conscientious undertone of brain washing to breed hatred for Arabs, Africans, and Islam.

Even proper Christians, like the Anglicans, Protestants, Catholics, etc, that do not ascribe to this school of thought are targeted in the dirty propaganda. There has never been a systematic attack on Islam as we have seen in the past twenty years or so. In fact, Ghana is beginning to witness the hype of xenophobia that has the propensity to bubble out of control. Especially with the advent of social media, thisprogramme has received a boost ten thousand times faster than conventional modes of communication as we knew it in the 80s and before. Day in day out, I read posts on Facebook that attack Islam in very vile terms. Then if one replied, they are discounted as demons or extra-terrestrialbeings. I attach one such very provocative post, which I condemn in no uncertain terms.

There is, also, the politics of dirty campaigning amongst contestants who belong to the same fraternity. We have lost our minds as Ghanaians. I went bonkers when the indecorous president of the United States claimed that African countries are shitholes. I threw at him a salvo that would probably shut him up if itever reached him. But on second thought, given all that is going on in our country, it just may be a deserved insult brought upon ourselves that we cannot even defend. #ShitholeIndeed

Before I bring my pen to a rest, let me indicate that those doomsday prophets who seek fame have achieved same, albeit in blasphemy of an unforgiveable nature. May they and the haters of the civilised in our country go to hell. I am now convinced that there are witches in our country. Many people I accost and talk to indicate that someone in their family is a witch: a sister, an aunt, a cousin, or sometimes a mother. Someone actually told me that his mother was a witch, and so he had forsaken her. His Pastor told him that it was a revelation from GOD! How? How can normal human beings believe this utter nonsense? To even allow a slime ball speak this gibberish and listen to it is sheer wickedness, let alone believe that your mother is a witch. My GOD!

Then there is the alarming harassment of so-called mallams. They are nothing but non-spiritual twerps, thieves, fraudsters, and disgraceful inferiors. To explain, it is worth noting that in Islam, Mua’llim, popularly pronounced “Mallam” in Hausa, means “Teacher”! Teachers of the Holy Qur’an usually knew the medicine of the herbs, too. Therefore many patronised them as far back as 1400 years ago. Unfortunately, today, these fraudsters cloak themselves in the flamboyance of sacred spiritualism to attract the distraught, the sick, and the unstable. Together with the misleading pastors cum prophets, they must be disbanded and outlawed. The constitution of the country must include punishment for such people, and for the promulgators of hate speech, be it religious, political, or social.
