Tamale, July 31, GNA - A trade unionist has appealed to non-governmental organisations and philanthropists to help renovate the Children's Ward of the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The windows of the ward lack louvers and nets and this has contributed to the increasing cases of malaria and cholera leading to the deaths of many children admitted in the hospital.
Mrs Mary Kamper, the Vice-Chairperson of the Health Services Workers Union (Women's Wing) said this when members of the union undertook a clean up exercise at the Children's Ward of the hospital on Saturday. She said since the hospital was built it has not seen any major renovation and the entire infrastructure has deteriorated.
