Some communities in the Krachi East Municipal are lacking behind in terms of developmental projects. These includes Sikape, Mempeasem and Agodeke all in the Volta Region.

The entire residents in these communities are calling on the Krachi East District Assembly and the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo to come to their aid.

According to Mr Deity Samuel, a resident of Sikape said, "the community was able to raise fund to put up a three units classroom blocks but due to financial difficulties they can no longer pay the few teaching staffs in the school".

Not withstanding that, there's another challenges facing them which is lack of electricity in Sikape and Mempeasem which is affecting educational system and other standard of living.

In an interview with Mr Richard Borborga and Mr Lugru Godfred today, revealed to Oti radio news that, the only way people living in and around these communities get asses to the nearest health post is by crossing the Oti river to Abotoase in the Biakoye District which according to them is risky and very stressful comparing the distance involved, "most especially when crossing the river with pregnant women who are in labour at times takes approximately three to four hours just for crossing the lake alone, some of them even end up dying on the way".

Hence their appeal to the government to put up a CHPS compound in these areas to enable them have asses to quality health care.

Speaking to the Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Patrick Jilimah today in his office told Oti Radio that, "I am aware of the situation and I also know what my people are going through but I am assuring you that government is yet to come out with the allocation for CHPS compound which you will also benefit from it".

However, he directed them to officially write to the Municipal Education Directoriat for government's support in terms of their educational needs.

Hon. Jilimah, assured all the people of Krachi East to remain calm because more projects are yet to come.
